Places to visit.

Swansea is Wales' Waterfront City and is a modern, vibrant and compact city centre only a stone's throw away from Wales' largest marina and newest museum, the National Waterfront Museum.

Swansea Bay, Mumbles and Gower.

Oxwich: If you are looking for something traditional, then why not sample our award winning beaches?  Oxwich has been voted the UK's best beach for 2007 by The Travel Magazine.

Mumbles: Is only 5 miles along the promenade from the City Centre. Go and enjoy the taste of homemade ice cream at one of the four award winning ice cream parlours and cafés.

Gower Peninsula: Britain's first designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.  Gower's countryside, picturesque little villages and clean, sandy beaches are just some of the reasons which make Gower so popular  for family holidays, walking breaks and watersport enthusiasts.

Swansea Bay, Mumbles and Gower boasts some of the best surfing and watersport  beaches in the UK and the second greatest tidal range in the world. Our area has south, west and east facing beaches, providing a haven for windsurfing, kitesurfing and kitebuggying. You can also try sailing, canoeing, fishing or waterskiing....the list is endless.

Back on dry land, our rugged limestone cliffs offer the perfect challenge for coasteering, caving and climbing, and our beaches offer the ideal location for an exhilarating canter across the sand on horseback.  Swansea Bay and Gower also has some challenging golf courses in spectacular locations.

Machynys Peninsula Golf & Country Club is proud to boast the first Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course in Wales.

Swansea Bay hosts part of the Celtic Trail and the National Cycle Network and provides a wonderful range of traffic-free cycle routes. And Afan Forest Park was recently listed as one of the world's 'Top 10 places to ride'!
